Think You Live Too Far Away from CDTA to Go to Law School? Think Again!
At the California Desert Trial Academy, College of Law, our goal is to see you succeed in law school. If you live too far away from our campus in Indio to comfortably drive in three nights a week, you may be eligible to participate in our unique Distance Learning Program.
This State Bar approved, hybrid program allows you to attend classes from the comfort of your home by attending remotely through the Zoom platform. You will attend class at the same time as your classmates attending in person by logging into our program on your computer. You will be able to see and hear the professors and your classmates and they can see and hear you as well. You will be able to ask questions, brief cases and participate as fully as if you were physically in the classroom.
You will then join us at our Indio location for the Saturday Enrichment Program where you will sharpen your academic and writing skills. The Saturday program also allows you to network with the local legal community and your classmates.
The majority of our students have full-time jobs and families. You will flourish in your law school career by connecting with other students and particularly our alumni who can give you valuable tips on juggling work, family and school. As a distance learner, you will save valuable time commuting to and from class.
CDTA is set up to help you succeed, with a focus on study groups, mentoring, time management skills other resources to assist you should you need it. A strong personal support system at home can be invaluable and we highly recommend building this support system as much as possible prior to entering law school. Get referrals for someone to help with after-school care, driving, chores, whatever you need so that you have more time to get to class and study. Most likely, everyone around you will be supportive as they watch you reaching for an incredible goal like achieving your J.D.
